Columbia, SC Wedding - Mr. & Mrs. Colin Becker

Valentine’s Day weekend weddings have such a naturally romantic feel, and this one was no exception! The muted February colors, elegant floral arrangements, and beautiful venues made for a truly beautiful wedding. The bride and groom embraced the beauty of a winter wedding in Columbia, South Carolina, proving that love stories shine in every season, not just in the summer time!

Getting Ready: Laughter & Love with Family

The day started with the bride and her closest friends getting ready together, and it was an absolute joy to be a part of. As someone who first met the bride in college—where she helped teach me ceramics—it was such an honor to capture this day for her. The morning was filled with laughter, excitement, and happy anticipation as everyone got ready for the celebration ahead. The smell of curling iron and hairspray wafted from the bride’s suite. Meanwhile, in the groom’s suite, a scattered layer of socks and t-shirts coated the floor.

The Church of the Apostles Wedding Ceremony

The ceremony at The Church of the Apostles was simply stunning. Every detail, from the heartfelt vows to the message shared, emphasized that these two lives were now becoming one. It was such a meaningful and moving moment, surrounded by their closest family and friends.

After the ceremony, we captured some stunning bridal portraits. The window light inside created the most breathtaking, timeless images, and once we stepped outside, we took advantage of the beautiful surroundings for some natural, glowing portraits. The love and excitement between the bride and groom were so evident—it made every shot feel effortless.

As my second shooter and I walked around the space, I couldn’t help but gawk at just how beautiful this church was! So much timeless beauty, mixed with newly renovated elements. The sanctuary we very well-lit and beautiful for a wedding ceremony.

The Millstone at Adams Pond Reception

From there, we made our way to the reception at The Millstone at Adams Pond in Columbia, South Carolina, where the celebration continued. The transition to the first dances was seamless, and it was such a joy to witness the love and emotion in those special moments. The venue provided the perfect romantic atmosphere—with its wrap-around porch, peaceful water views, and a beautiful ballroom where the night unfolded.

With live music filling the space (thank you, Flat Out Strangers of Columbia), guests spent hours dancing, laughing, and celebrating the happy couple. It was a day of excited hurry and immense joy. But before we knew it it was time for the grand exit. The bride and groom made their getaway, closing out their perfect Valentine’s weekend wedding in the most unforgettable way.
